TB LEAGUE S29B- THEY CREATED ANOTHER BEAUTY
I've been looking forward to these new bodies- S29B in sun tan, and S28A pale- marketed as "buxom" since they were announced.
First of all, these are basic bodies; no head or clothing is included. The set includes three pairs of hands in the usual poses, and a pair of flat feet and one arched.
Part of my motivation in selecting the sun tan S29B is that I needed a body for the Anck Su Namun head that I purchased. She won't be one of my agents so I didn't want to use an athletic body for her, and these new bodies looked intriguing.
Here's what the head and body combination look like (the briefs are to keep the photo in compliance with MWD's rules for the General forum):
As you can see, she's buxom but also a completely different body sculpt from what we've seen from TBLeague so far. I would say she has "bigger bones" than what we usually see in action figures. This body sculpt is very appealing to me.
One of the first major differences that I saw with this body is that the feet are larger than those of the other bodies. They're both longer and wider. They're completely different sculpts as well. While I always welcome improvements to bodies in general, I'm a bit puzzled at the need for larger feet. All of my TBL bodies are very stable when they stand so I don't think the change was to address stability. Larger feet complicate shoe shopping...
Here's a comparison with S23B feet (on the right). From this angle you can see how much wider the S29B feet are. This may be due to the added thickness of the S29's legs and ankles:
Here's a comparison of length:
The arched feet are also larger in the same way:
The S29B feet are on the left, S23B on the right. Compare the width of the ankles and the length of the toes to the back of the balls of the feet. My existing shoes are going to be tight on her. Here's another view:
Again, the S29B is on the left, S23B on the right. Okay, enough about feet...
Another difference with previous bodies is TBLeague has updated the open or relaxed hands. I didn't notice much of a difference with the other hands, but the open ones have more detail (which is always nice!):
The new body definitely has a new hand sculpt. Notice the wrinkles in the palms and the overall crisper detail in the fingers: some vein details as well as finger nails.
Before we get to "anatomic" details, here's a quick look at her nice derriere:
I knew from the promotional photos that it would be a nice sculpt, but TBL always surprises with subtle contours. I love the dimples in the lower back. Of course as with all of their bodies, there are a lot of subtle contours throughout the body that really add to its realism and beauty. These bodies really POP in the right lighting!
Okay, so what about the other detailing? Yes, she has anatomic detailing, every bit as detailed as the earlier bodies, though perhaps a bit more restrained. Not that this diminishes the realism. I'll let the photos do the talking:
Hopefully no further explanation is needed here...
So what is this new body like to pose and and stand? Just as with the previous TBL bodies, this new one is a lot of fun to use: the same smooth joints, excellent stability, and all the time looking so realistic. So much so that I had to put together an impromptu photo sequence. I'm sure TBL is gearing up for a second run of these bodies. I've seen that one on line retailer has already sold out of their S29B stock on the first day they were available.
And a footnote: I did find a pair of shoes that fit her. Maybe it won't be so difficult after all:
