A WALK WITH NATASHA
After a recent location shoot for the Main Saga, I still had some useful daylight left so I thought it would be a good opportunity to photograph Natasha in her summer outfit from AC Play.
The location is a quiet natural park nestled between a neighborhood and the Truckee River. At least that's where we started.
A few days later, on my way home, I planned on stopping near Donner Summit. The plan was to take photos of Natasha in the high country, with some dramatic scenery in the background. That plan was abandoned as the area was closed due to deep snow! Well, it is early March after all...
When planning an outdoor shoot, it's always good to have a back-up plan. There's no telling what can go wrong with a given location. The next area with easy access to a scenic back drop was just a few minutes down the freeway. Though not quite as dramatic as my original choice at 7057 feet (2151 meters) above sea level, Emigrant Gap still provides some sweeping vistas of the Sierras at 5190 feet (1582 meters) above sea level. The location is actually more exposed than my original plan, and it was quite windy for Natasha, yet she completed the shoot without mishap. She's a Triad Alpha (a very customized one), and they're known for good balance.
