DAM TOYS TORTURE CHAIR
Okay, a torture chair... not usually part of the decor of most households. Still, there are a lot of possibilities with a diorama item such as this.
This item was included in a figure set that is part of The Gangster Kingdom series that DAM Toys produces. It seems that each one of these figures (with stylized head sculpts) features at least one stand-out item. I purchased this as a parted out piece, and unfortunately I can't remember which character is associated with it.
As with everything they do, DAM put a lot of attention to detail in this piece. It's a lot more than a wooden chair with arm straps.
It's made of wood and is quite a hefty piece. Even though it's not mounted on a base, it's very stable- not even a seamless body is going to knock it over as they squirm around.
I like the details like the anchoring bolts, and the grime on the mounting hardware. As you look at this chair, it becomes obvious it isn't new; in fact it has seen considerable use, maybe even recently. The most obvious clue is the blood on the lower lug on the front leg.
Other signs are the blood drops on the arms and arm cuffs. These cuffs are sturdy items as you would expect them to be, and they work very nicely. After all, one wouldn't want the subject to be able to break free...
So how does it work? By some stroke of luck, Scar was able to have Natasha for a "sitting". A chair like this isn't really meant to fit everybody, and of course comfort and ergonomics aren't design priorities. Natasha is a Triad Alpha so she's shorter than most of the seamless figures that are popular now; she can sit in it using her arched feet.
Now just look at Scar, getting all distracted and forgetting to use the chest strap. Remember, Safety First!
Yes, especially if you plan on doing this sort of thing, you should definitely use the chest restraint.
Well, that's about it for this review or I'll have to password protect it. I don't know how many of these beauties are still around, but they're definitely worth considering. One of these shouldn't be that difficult to make, though. I'm going to get Natasha out of the chair before Scar gets carried away...
